How Does Clear Silk™ work, and What Conditions Does It Treat?
Clear Silk™ is a quick facial-like procedure that can be done any time of year with no downtime. It utilizes non-invasive laser technology delivering micro pulses of laser energy to the skin to safely, discretely, and effectively treat diffuse redness, rosacea, fine lines and wrinkles, enlarged pores, uneven skin tone and texture, as well as scars. The result is a glowing complexion that keeps improving with each treatment. Excellent results are obtained on the face and neck, and also may diminish recent scars on other areas of the body.

What is Diffuse Redness and Rosacea, and how does Clear Silk™ treat these conditions?
Diffuse redness is a general appearance of facial redness, such as rosy cheeks. This condition is caused by the dilation of capillaries, which are very tiny blood vessels below the skin surface, resulting in the appearance of redness on the skin, especially on the face. The most commonly affected areas are the nose, forehead, and cheeks. Diffuse redness is often associated with a condition called rosacea, and it can be hereditary. Clear Silk™ will help your appearance by gently treating and reducing this condition.
What Should I Expect During and After the Treatment & How Many Treatments Are Needed?
Clear Silk™ is a non-invasive, gentle, and painless procedure, and so topical anesthetic and ice prior to treatment is generally not necessary. Patients often describe the treatment as relaxing and therapeutic. You will experience a gentle warming of your skin during the procedure, as the laser handpiece is moved back and forth. The most common side effect is slight redness that disappears within a few hours of treatment, but there is no downtime, and normal activities can be resumed immediately. However, use of an SPF 30 sunscreen and avoidance of direct sun exposure is strongly advised, as your skin will be sensitive to ultraviolet light, especially on the same day of the procedure. Treatment results are often subtle, but will improve with continuous treatments, and on average 4-6 treatments are required to achieve optimal results.
