Clear V Vein Removal

What is Clear V™ & What Conditions Can Be Treated?

Clear V™, with its unique integrated Subsurface Vein Illumination (SVI) technology, allows the precise treatment of vessels, broken capillaries, spider veins, facial veins, telangiectasias, vascular lesions, as well as rosacea and discoloration of skin that can and cannot be seen, thus restoring your skin to its natural tone and color.  All areas can be treated, although the more popular areas are the legs and face.

What is Clear V™ Subsurface Vein Illumination (SVI™) & How Does It Work?

Clear V™ Subsurface Vein Illumination (SVI™) is specially designed to enhance the visibility to see subsurface and feeder veins to treat more thoroughly and effectively for enhanced treatment precision and patient comfort, in which the unwanted vessels are heated by the laser energy and gently eliminated from the upper layers of the skin surface.

Is the Clear V™ Uncomfortable & How Long Does It Take?

There should be little to no discomfort during this 30 minute treatment; however, it varies from patient to patient and depends on the treatment.  You may feel a brief warm or hot sensation as the laser pulses are absorbed by the unwanted vessels, but generally topical anesthesia is not needed.  Additionally, Clear V™ has an integrated cooling mechanism which greatly enhances the experience.  There should be no prolonged post treatment discomfort as well.

What Should I Expect After a Clear V™ treatment & What Aftercare Will I Need?

Patient responses can vary, but redness and swelling around the treated vessels are usually noted within a few minutes and typically have a “cat scratch” appearance.  A sunburn sensation and a slight feeling of soreness are also normal and expected.  These reactions tend to subside within 24-48 hours after the treatment.  After 48 hours, the skin over the treated veins will look slightly red, purple, or bruised.

Sometimes the veins will be more visible than they were prior to treatment, and this is normal.  Within the first 2-3 weeks, the redness and purple color will begin to fade, and with each week, the color will become lighter and the veins will become less noticeable.  Strictly avoid any sun exposure to the treated area for a minimum of 7 days after the procedure, as the treated area is more prone to sunburn and pigmentation change.  Additionally, reapply a sun block of at least SPF 30 every 2 hours, and keep the area covered as much as possible.

How Long Will It Take to Recover & How Many Clear V™ Treatments Will I Need?

In most cases, there is virtually no downtime, and daily activities may be resumed immediately.  Treatments are typically 4-6 weeks apart, and 2-3 total treatments are usually necessary.  However, the number of treatments required will depend upon the number and character of the vessels present, and your body’s ability to heal.
